A Disruptor’s Perspective: From IDP to End-to-End Process Automation

Reflections on our recognition in the 2025 Infosource Vendor Matrix – and what comes next

We’re pleased to share that TCG Process has once again been named a Leading Disruptor in Infosource’s 2025 Global Capture and Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) Vendor Matrix Report.

For three years running we have been recognized as a forward-thinking provider in this rapidly evolving space. But this year’s recognition is particularly unique – it highlights our own evolved mission and offering with OCTO, the process automation platform that underpins award-winning DocProStar.

Like any vendor matrix, Infosource’s assessment reflects both our progress and the shifting expectations of the market, and we were pleased to score above average for the industry in 9 out of 10 categories. We had a great discussion with Infosource about the continued emergence of AI. We have seen a number of projects go live with AI integrated inside complete end-to-end processes. Finding ways to embrace the latest technologies and at the same time ensuring the same level of visibility, robustness and accuracy that our customers expect aligns with our mission of delivering safe, precise, scalable and efficient business process applications.

OCTO: Much more than an IDP platform

The 2025 report points to the launch of OCTO as a key factor in our continued leadership. The proven foundation that has always underpinned DocProStar, OCTO significantly extends capabilities beyond document automation – connecting people, systems, and AI across the full lifecycle of a business process.

“TCG Process views OCTO as working alongside and orchestrating the people who are involved in process execution, as well as systems of record, rather than simply feeding them, as it has typically done with IDP.”

Businesses today don’t want to just extract information from a document – they want that information to trigger actions, coordinate systems, and engage employees or customers at just the right moment. That’s what OCTO does.

What’s New: AI Assistant, Integrations and UX

The report also called out several new enhancements we’ve brought to market through OCTO:

  • AI Assistant for Process Design: Natural language input makes it easier for users to design and deploy automated processes.
  • Expanded AI Strategy: OCTO connects to best-in-class LLMs and document intelligence models from OpenAI, Microsoft, LazarusAI and others. But what’s just as important to us is how AI is used – with a strong emphasis on explainability, verification and human-in-the-loop review.
  • Intuitive, Low-Code Tools: Our BPMN modeler and Automation Designer give teams the visual tools they need to design, test and optimize processes – without having to write custom code.
  • Accelerators for Faster ROI: For standard document use cases like invoices, claims, orders, onboarding, account opening and more, Accelerators ensure faster time-to-value and speed up deployment times.

Moving Beyond Siloed Automation

Today, many organizations are still dealing with fragmented systems, isolated use cases and often limited visibility into their business processes. OCTO, with orchestration and transparency built in, offers the ability to safely build process applications across systems and databases while retaining all auditing data to understand exactly what and why an action occurred.

With OCTO, we’re helping customers go way beyond siloed IDP, empowering them to create smarter, more adaptive flows, that span the entire process live-cycle.
